Support & Parent FAQ — BibleJesus-Family

BibleJesus-Family is a family app, set up by a parent, but this page is for you, the parent or guardian. Below are the questions parents ask most. For anything else — including account deletion, privacy requests, or a problem with the app — email [email protected].

BibleJesus-Family is coming soon. The app isn't on the App Store yet. The answers below describe how it works; we'll post the download link here when it's live.

The basics

What is BibleJesus-Family?

BibleJesus-Family is a voice-first iPhone app for the whole family. A parent sets it up, and then anyone in the household — including young children — can push a button, ask Jesus anything, and hear a spoken answer: funny, warm, and rooted in Bible stories, with colorful comic pictures to look at. There is no reading required, so it works even for the youngest members who can't read yet. It is rated 4+ in the Education category (not Apple's Kids Category), built so that the parent stays in control.

Who is it for?

The whole family — it's an app a parent sets up for the household. Because it's voice-first with nothing to read, it's a comfortable fit for younger children too, used with a parent's setup and supervision. The humor and stories are warm and modern so they land across ages.

Is "Jesus" really Jesus?

No. The Jesus you talk to is AI software — a warm, Bible-grounded character, not Jesus Christ and not a substitute for your family, your church, or a real grown-up. We are honest about this with parents, and the app is designed to point everyone back toward your family and your faith community, not to replace them.

Safety and monitoring

How does parental monitoring work?

Every conversation your child has is saved so you can read all of it, any time, in the app's parent area. That area — the conversation history, the settings, and the delete controls — sits behind a quick grown-up check (a simple question a young child can't answer), so your child can't open it.

How do I delete my child's conversations?

Only a grown-up can delete conversation history. From the parent area (behind the grown-up check), you can clear individual conversations or all of them. Your child can't reach that area, so they can't erase what they said — the record stays honest until you decide to clear it.

What does the "safety floor" do?

The safety floor is a child-grade safety layer that runs on every response — tightened beyond our adult app. It is built to:

  • Never produce harmful, frightening, sexualized, age-inappropriate, or manipulative content.
  • Avoid "dark patterns" and engagement loops designed to keep a child hooked.
  • Recognize when a child seems distressed and gently point them toward a trusted grown-up or human help, in words a child understands.

Are there ads or trackers?

No. No behavioral advertising, no third-party trackers, no advertising IDs. We collect only the data needed to run the app and to give you the monitoring you asked for — nothing for marketing, profiling, or resale. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Setting it up

How do I set up the parent gate?

The first time the app opens, a grown-up completes a one-time setup: a quick check that you're an adult, then a plain-language consent screen describing what the app saves, which you agree to. No data about your child is collected until you finish this step. The same grown-up check later protects the settings and the conversation history.

Can my child use it without me setting it up first?

No. There is no way into the app for your child until a parent completes the gate and consent. That's a hard rule, not a setting you can skip.

Billing and pricing

How much does it cost?

BibleJesus-Family is free to download, and reading the Bible is always free. Talking with Jesus uses credits: a parent subscribes to a monthly plan that includes an allowance of conversation credits, and that allowance renews each month. There are a few plan sizes — more credits means more conversation — so you can pick the one that fits how much your child talks, and change or cancel anytime.

Because Apple sets prices for each region, the current plans and prices are shown in the App Store before you subscribe. You manage everything in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Is there a family plan?

BibleJesus-Family uses a single parent account — you're the account holder, and your child uses the app on your device. The plans differ by how many monthly conversation credits they include, not by the number of children, so choose the one that fits how much your child talks. You can move between plans at any time.

Privacy and your rights

What data do you collect about my child?

Only what's needed to run the app and give you the monitoring you asked for — primarily your child's spoken questions and Jesus's answers, saved for you to review. No demographic profiling, no ad IDs, no third-party analytics. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my child's account or export the data?

Email [email protected] from the parent account, or use the in-app parent area (behind the grown-up check). Because the account holder is the parent, all privacy requests — access, export, deletion — are made and confirmed by you, not the child. We respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
