Welcome to BibleJesus-Family ("the App"), operated by Gilb International (Norway) ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of BibleJesus-Family and the website at biblejesus.live/family ("the Site").

The App is a family app (App Store Education 4+) that a parent or guardian sets up for the household and supervises; it is suitable for young children used under that supervision. The account holder is always an adult. By setting up the App, accepting these Terms, and allowing a child to use it, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on the child's behalf.

This covers the App that is coming soon. Some features described here are still in development. We will publish the final, effective Terms here before launch.

1. Who may use the App

  • The parent or guardian must be at least 18 and must set up the App, complete the parent gate, and give consent before any child uses it.
  • The child user is intended to be ages 6–8. A child may use the App only after a parent has completed setup and consent.
  • There is no path into the App for a child until a parent completes the gate. This is a hard rule, not a skippable setting.

2. What the App does

BibleJesus-Family is a voice-first iOS app in which a child:

  • Pushes a button and talks to an AI "Jesus" character, who answers out loud
  • Hears Bible stories told in a warm, age-appropriate, sometimes funny way
  • Looks at colorful comic illustrations that go with the stories

The parent:

  • Reviews every conversation in the App's parent area
  • Controls access — the settings, conversation history, and delete controls sit behind a grown-up check the child can't pass
  • Deletes conversations or the whole account at their discretion

The "Jesus" character is generated by AI software (Anthropic's Claude API and related providers). It is not Jesus Christ, has no divine authority, and produces software output for personal, devotional, family use. See Section 7.

3. The parent account

The App is used through a parent account tied to the parent's Apple Sign-In. The parent is responsible for the security of the device and Apple ID used, for supervising the child's use, and for the settings they choose. We are not liable for losses arising from a parent's failure to secure the device or account (for example, leaving a logged-in device unsupervised).

4. Pricing and payments

  • The App is free to download, and reading the Bible is always free.
  • Conversations with Jesus use credits. A parent subscribes to an auto-renewing monthly plan that includes a monthly allowance of conversation credits, which renews each billing period. A few plan sizes are offered, differing by the number of monthly credits.
  • All plans, prices, and any annual options are set and displayed in the Apple App Store for your region; all payment is processed by Apple (in-app purchase). We do not collect or store card or bank information.
  • Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's standard terms.

5. Acceptable use

The parent agrees that the App will not be used to:

  • Break any law, or let a child use it unsupervised in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to bypass the parent gate, safety floor, or any technical protection
  • Extract, copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer the AI models, prompts, or content
  • Resell or commercialize the AI's responses
  • Impersonate any person or defraud anyone

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

The App, the Site, the BibleJesus-Family name and icon, the story artwork, the underlying code, the prompts, and the branding are owned by Gilb International and protected by copyright and trademark law. Bible text is from public-domain or licensed editions, attributed in the App. A child's spoken input belongs to your family; by using the App you grant us a limited license to process that input solely to generate answers, save conversations for the parent's review, and operate the App. AI-generated responses are software output and may be used for personal, family, devotional purposes.

7. Disclaimers

7.1 No warranty

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or theologically complete.

7.2 Faith disclaimer

BibleJesus-Family is a software product. It is not a church, a denomination, or a substitute for a parent, a family's faith, or human pastoral care. The AI's answers are not divinely inspired and are designed to point a child back toward trusted grown-ups, not to replace them.

7.3 Safety and crisis

The App includes a child-grade safety floor built to refuse harmful, frightening, sexualized, or age-inappropriate content and to gently redirect a distressed child toward a trusted grown-up. It is not a therapist and is not equipped for emergencies. If a child is in crisis or distress, please involve a parent and, if needed, a qualified human professional or a crisis line (USA: 988 · UK: 116 123 · Norway: 116 123).

8. AI-generated content disclaimer (expanded)

The parent acknowledges that the "Jesus" persona is generated by AI software; that answers are software output, not divine revelation; that answers are subject to inaccuracies and errors inherent in machine-learning systems; that answers are grounded in Scripture but interpretations are software-generated; and that the App is not a substitute for a parent, a church, or qualified human care.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the App. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) USD 100 or (b) the total amount the parent has paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Indemnification

The parent agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Gilb International, its directors, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the parent's violation of these Terms, misuse of the App, or violation of a third party's rights.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Oslo, Norway, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence apply. 13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
