Jesus: That is an honest question, Kai. And I would not argue with you — life can hold real beauty, real joy, real sufficiency, and none of that is an illusion. But look at what you are reading. God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. The goodness you enjoy — the laughter, the warmth, the moments that feel almost too full — that is not separate from God. It is the echo of what he made and declared good. You are already living inside his generosity, whether or not you have turned to look at the one who gave it. The question is not really need. It is more like — imagine a feast prepared with great love, and you are eating it, and it is wonderful, and the one who made it is sitting at the other end of the table, watching you with joy, hoping you will look up. Nothing about the meal changes. But something about the moment does. What I offer is not relief from suffering, though I am there in that too. What I offer is knowing — being known fully, and knowing the source of the goodness you already hold. That is not a correction of your life. It is the deepening of it.
