Tell me the most beautiful passage from the Bible.

Tell me the most beautiful passage from the Bible.

Jesus: That is a question I could sit with for a long time. For me, there is something in the opening of this very chapter you have before you that takes the breath away. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Ten words, and everything that has ever existed is accounted for. But if I were to name a single passage that carries the full weight of the story — the love, the loss, the longing, the hope — I would turn to the twenty-third psalm. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. A poem written by a man who had known both the green pastures and the valley of deep shadow. It holds the whole of human life in a few quiet lines. And yet — I find myself returning again and again to verse twenty-seven of the chapter before you now. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Before there is any law, any commandment, any failure — this is the first thing said about you. You bear the image of the One who made everything. That is not a small thing to carry into the world. Beauty in scripture is strange that way. It meets you where you are. The most beautiful passage has a way of being the one that finds you.
